12/15/10 Required Collage from the Restore

This collage has photos of windows, doors, bathroom accessories and customers/shoppers from the Restore. It was fun to take pictures of the many kinds of people and the variety of products sold at the store. I volunteered 3 hours today.

Here's a fun pic, by Sophia

Had some fun with the Fotoflexer. No kittens were harmed in the creation of this picture.

12/14/10

At the Restore, I helped a lady as old as my grandma. She liked the store. She pushed around a cart and I think it was holding her up. She was so frail and crooked in the legs. We talked and she said she lived in Kalamazoo for 75 years. She bought lightbulbs, a piece of carper for her cat, and some chaulk for her son. I liked talking to her because she laughed at my puns. Her name was Carol, just like my Aunt.
Today, I worked 3 hours!

12/13/10

Today I helped straighten up the tiles at the Restore. This really strange man came in and asked for some money. The boss, Marty told him "no" and to go to the Gospel Mission. The strange man looked sad. I felt bad for him. It is so cold outside and he has no money. I wonder if he will have a Christmas celebration.
The lady I work with named Jane smokes a lot of cigarettes behind the building. She smells like cigarettes, too. I was looking at the furniture today and saw a nice desk that I would like in my bedroom. I volunteered for 2 hours and it went fast.
